Lenovo K8 Note to launch in India on August 9 as Amazon exclusive

After Lenovo confirmed last week that the K8 Note will be launching in India on August 9, Amazon has posted a page on its website which claims that the smartphone will be sold exclusively via Amazon. There has been come confusion regarding the actual name of the handset as it is a successor to the K6 Note but is called the K8 Note. It seems that Lenovo has skipped the K7 Note moniker entirely.
The dedicated web page on Amazon India points towards photography and performance being the key highlights of the K8 Note with the phrases '#KillTheOrdinary Performance' and '#KillTheOridinary Clicks'. Those interested in the Lenovo K8 Note can also opt to get notifications about the smartphone from Amazon by signing up on the page.
A Geekbench listing has shed some light on the specifications of the K8 Note. The listing claims that the smartphone will be powered by the deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Additionally, the handset will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.  The smartphone could also come with a dual camera setup at the rear which could be the reasoning behind the K8 Note name.

To recap, the K8 Note's predecessor, the K6 Note is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging support. The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 32GB of internal storage, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and 4G LTE support. On the imaging front, the K6 Note comes with a 16MP camera on the rear with phase detection autofocus and a dual LED flash alongside an 8MP camera at the front for selfies. Design wise, the smartphone has chamfered edges and looks a bit like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
