iPhone SE 2 may launch in India first, iPhone 7s to feature wireless charging

While the iPhone SE did not see much love in India initially due to its high Rs 39,999 launch price, it has taken off recently due to price cuts which have made it one of the best deals in the market. Now it seems that Apple is taking the high demand for the SE in India seriously. Reports indicate that iPhone SE will get a refresh early next year and India will be the first market to receive the SE 2.
The report by Focus Taiwan claims that the iPhone SE refresh will start shipping in Q1 2018 and will be manufactured by Wistron, the same company which started assembling the current generation iPhone SE in India a few months ago. The report asserts that the decision to make a new iPhone SE is a part of a bid by Apple to double its market share in India over the next five years.

The report adds that Winston has prepared for adding a new iPhone SE production line in its plant located in Bengaluru and is in talks with the Karnataka government for additional land. The report also adds that Apple will enjoy a 10 per cent exemption on basic customs duty which should allow it to price the iPhone SE 2 competitively and compete against the growing influx of budget and mid-range Android smartphones.
According to Tekz24, the iPhone SE refresh is rumoured to come with a 4-4.2-inch screen, the Apple A10 processor, a 1,700mAh battery and 32/128GB of storage. The  iPhone SE is popular amongst those who want a compact smartphone as well as those who want a fast and snappy iPhone at an affordable price.

iPhone 7s may come with wireless charging

While the iPhone 8 has been hogging all the headlines, there are two more iPhones in the offing this year. Along with the tenth anniversary iPhone 8, Apple is also going to launch updated versions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in the form of the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus next month.
9 to 5 Mac received images of an iPhone 7s Plus dummy model  from Apple tipster Sonny Dickson. The image clearly points towards the presence of a glass back unlike the aluminium chassis seen on the iPhone 7s Plus and 6s Plus. This clearly indicates that the 7s and 7s Plus models could feature wireless charging support.
In order to incorporate wireless charging, it is necessary for a smartphone to have a glass back as metal blocks most of the signals and does not allow the inductive charging mechanism to function. Glass on the other hand allows antenna signals to freely pass through.
The iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus are expected to come with updated cameras with 3D sensing capabilities, 64/256GB of storage, a faster and more efficient A11 processor, 2/3GB of RAM and a glass and metal design.
