During an interview with India Today Tech, Sudhin Mathur - Managing Director, Motorola Mobility India dropped strong hints that Motorola is planning to launch the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus in India during this festival season.
The Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus are updated variants of the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus which were launched in India a few months ago. Both smartphones come with improved cameras, an all metal unibody design and bigger displays.
At the opening of Motorola's first offline exclusive Moto Hub retail store in Noida, India Today Tech had the opportunity to speak to Mr Mathur. Upon being asked about the Indian launch of the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus, he said - "The festival season is coming, it is a time to purchase new things. So, let's wait for the festival season, there may be some good news"
Moto G5S, G5S Plus with Android Nougat, 3000mAh battery launched
While the Moto G5 has a 2,800mAh battery and a 5.0-inch fullHD display, the Moto G5S comes with a larger 3,000mAh battery and a bigger 5.2-inch screen with the same 1080p resolution. It also features all new 16MP rear camera with phase detection auto focus and an aperture of f/2.0.
The Moto G5S comes with a bigger 5.5-inch fullHD display as compared to the 5.2-inch screen on the Moto G5 Plus. It also has dual cameras on the rear - two 13MP sensors which allow the smartphone to offer features such as selective focus and selective black and white coloring.

The Moto G5S is powered by the Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage while the Moto G5S Plus is powered by the Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of expandable storage.
The Moto G5S Plus has been priced at 249 Euros (roughly Rs 18,800) and the Moto G5S Plus at 299 Euros (roughly Rs 22,500) though Indian prices are expected to be lower. Both smartphones are available in Lunar Gray and Gold.
