OnePlus 5 to launch in new colour soon, teases OnePlus

OnePlus will soon launch the its latest flagship phone OnePlus 5 in a new colour. The company has started teasing about the phone on its social media channels, hinting that the launch is most likely just weeks away. Currently, the phone is available in "midnight black" and "slate grey". The new colour is likely to be something funkier. It could be yellow, something that Sania Mirza teased in one of the promo videos that OnePlus had earlier created, or it could be blue like that special edition of the OnePlus 3T that the company had launched earlier.
Irrespective of whatever the new colour is, chances are that it will be coming soon, most likely in the first half of this month. On its Twitter timeline, the OnePlus notes: "5omething new coming up! Can you guess what it is?"
For now, there is no information on whether the new variant of the OnePlus 5 will also have additional hardware changes or not. The chances of any other change except colour are extremely low. The OnePlus was launched in June and it is too early for any new variant with hardware changes to come to the market.
OnePlus 5 a flagship killer? Yes, it is despite its affordable price
Since its launch, the OnePlus 5 has divided the fans. Although it can be said that the phone has been a yet another phenomenal success for OnePlus, not everyone has liked it. Many have complained about its design, which they deem too close to the iPhone 7 Plus, while others have criticised its relatively weaker camera performance when compared to phones like the Galaxy S8 and the Google Pixel. There have been some controversies too around the phone's screen, which is placed in the reversed orientation, and its telephoto lens that doesn't have the true optical 2X zoom.
In our review, however, despite its minor flaws we found the OnePlus 5 to be a fantastic phone. It is one of the fastest phones in the market right now. It also offers phenomenal battery experience, clean Android software, a top of the line screen and camera features. Here is what we said in our review:
The OnePlus 5 is a phone for anyone who wants a fast, capable and versatile phone with clean software and some unique features without spending Rs 50,000 on a Google Pixel. It's an unbeatable value for money phone. It's just that it's not the perfect phone. No phone is.
The OnePlus 5 is a high-end phone that sells for a price of Rs 32,999. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, has 6GB RAM (8GB RAM variant is also available) and 64GB internal storage. The variant with 8GB RAM has 128GB internal storage. The OnePlus 5 has two rear cameras: the 16-megapixel primary camera and 20-megapixel camera with telephoto lens. The phone supports dual-SIM feature, has a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with fullHD resolution, an all-metal body and a 3000 mAh battery. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel camera.
